- 1Pick a level, from Easy to Legend.
- 2Press play and listen to the first half second.
- 3Search for the song and pick it. A wrong guess or a skip opens more of the clip: 0.5, 1.5, 3, 5, 9 and 15 seconds.
- 4You have six tries. Share your result, then come back tomorrow for five new songs.
The five levels
A song's level is measured, not guessed: it comes from how often players of the Guessong app found it.
- Easy: songs most players find, usually in the first seconds.
- Medium: songs about half of players find.
- Hard: songs about four in ten players find.
- Expert: songs about three in ten players find.
- Legend: songs about one in five players find. For real fans.
Questions
Is Guessong free?
Yes. It plays in your browser on a phone or a computer, with no account and no download.
When do the songs change?
Every day at 07:00 UTC. Everyone gets the same five songs that day.
How many tries do I get?
Six per song. Each wrong guess or skip plays more of the song, up to 15 seconds.
Which songs are in it?
Well-known English-language songs: pop, rock, hip-hop and dance hits. Five new ones arrive every day.
Can I play more than five songs?
Yes, in the Guessong app for iPhone and Android: thousands of songs in categories, duels with friends, leagues and a song of the day.
